The Isthmian Canal.
President Roosevelt, speaking at Augusta, said that America would soon commence the Isthmian Canal, the greatest engineering feat of the twentieth century. Mr Knox, the United States Attor-ney-General, after visiting Paris, stated that the United States would not purchase the Panama Canal unless France gave a guarantee against loss. Mr Knox thought the title defective.
