Foxton Borough Council.
The.ro was a special meeting of the Borough- Council last night when the following resolutions were agreed to: — Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Robinson, That this Council :-,gree to let the Railway Department b.-we the ground in Harbour-street a- shewn on the plan, for new railway stat’on site. Proposed by Or Westwood, seconded by Or Symons, Tbat this Council call the attention of the Railway Department to the want of increased accommodation on the Poxton wharf, and that in view of the construction of the new railway station and the proposed necessary shifting of the sandhill to make room for the station, that the time would be opportune for the extension of the wharf at the south end, as the sapd from the excavation could be used for the neces sary reclamation and that the Department be requested to send the District Engineer to consult with the local authority re this proposal. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Minister of Railways and to the member for the district, accompanied by explanatory letters.
