Fire.

The Gtaki Post Office was destroyed by fire on Thursday night. The postmaster (Mr J, Tail), who, with his wife and family, lived on the premises, was in another part of the town when the fire broke out, but was able to return in time to assist in rescuing his four children. The whole of his furniture and effects, as'well as the entire contents of the Post and Telegraph Offices, werb burnt. The postmaster’s furni tare was insured for £l5O and a piano for £4O. The office safe came through the fiery ordeal well, aud its contents are not thought likely to be much injured.—N.2. Times.
