SPEECHE i BYBOSRLEADERS
General Botha, ex-Commandant-General of the Boer forces, speaking at Paarl, near Capetown, declared that the Boers were not vanquished. They ought to make Booth Africa their Fatherland and inheritance, a happy home, taking . care to educate their children to participate in the future government. - General Do la Key also addressed the meeting. He spoke bitterly against the National Scouts who took service under the British.
The Labour Association on the Rand is arranging to import many Nyassaland natives to work the mines.
The Transvaal Government is awarding compensation and assisting Britishers in respect to war losses. General Do la Rsy, ■ speaking at Stellenbosch, said that all could be happy under the British flag. General Botha said the people had lost their independence, but to lose their language would be a serious matter. The future was in the hands of the students. Education was everything. If the Afrikanders were educated there would bo no need for them to make room for anybody in the world.
