Remount Scandal.
At the trial of Major Studdart and bis sons, charged with fraud in connection with purchase of. remounts, the evidence showed that Studdart bought horses at £8 ios each, and sold them to the Government for £so each. The Studdart case has been compromised by the defendants paying the Government £aooo and £IOOO costs.
