Foxton Borough Council.

A special masting of the above Council was held at the Library Build* ing on Tuesday evening, Cr Hennessy in the chair. All the Councillors were present. Proposed by Cr Speirs, seconded by Cr Purcell, That the motion of the last meeting postponing the election of Mayor to the next ordinary meeting of- . the Council be rescinded. Carried. Proposed by Cr Speirs, seconded by Cr Baker, That two hundred trucks of gravel be ordered at once in lots of about ro or 12 trucks at % time. Not carried. Proposed by Cr Walsh, seconded by Cr Baker, That the Minister of Railways be requested to inform the Council as soon as possible if the Department is willing to exchange the portion of their land for the road according to the plan sent some time since. Carried. Proposed by Cr Speirs, seconded by Cr Baker, That the roadman be instructed to repair Russell-street forthwith. Carded.
