CORONATION CELEBRATIONS.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE MANAWATU HERALD. Sitt,-~ln your issue of the yth inst. I noticed a paragraph which stated that the Coronation Committee had decided to have a dance pn Friday night only, etc. 1 for one was surprised at this alteration. Apart from this disappointment to the children having their time for dancing curtailed, I consider it is breaking faith with a number of subscribers who gave towards the Fund on the strength of that part of the heading of the subscription list relating to the children’s dance, and who though perhaps too old for dancing themselves, would like to see their youngsters have a real good time. The grown-up people of Foxton have had their Foresters’ ball lately and the Volunteer ball to come off shortly, and I think it is gross selfishness on the part of those who are trying to stop the children from enjoying their dance to the full. I am, &c., Old Boy. Foxton, nth June, 1902.
