Explosion in America.

An explosion took place in the Fraterville mine, Coal Creek, Tennessee. Flames issued from the shaft and two hundred and fifty people were killed. A tornado killed a hundred persons and injured many others at the town of Goliad, in Texas. Armour’s lard refinery at Chicago has been burnt. The damage is estimated at a million dollars (£200,000). Twenty-nine persons were injured.
