The Tien-tsin correspondent of the, “ Standard ” states that forty thousand well-armed insurgents are renewing the attacks on churches and missionaries in the province of Chi-li. The Imperial troops failed to suppress the rising. The Chinese officials seek to pacify the rebels by gifts of money.
The Government ii.'u ordered the reduction of the Pnlish forces in China Vtyo thousands. The Germarffc.rrisons are not being reduced.
