PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE. At a meeting of the above Committee held last night the following resolutions were carried:— Proposed by the Mayor, secoaded by Cr Hennessy, That the clerk write to the solicitor, Mr Martin, asking for , the reading of the Act relating to drainage and drains. Proposed by the Mayer, seconded by
SfeHennessy, That the clerk prepare "Ssircular to be sent to similar Borough Councils asking their support in getting the Loans to Local Bodies Act amended, so as to enable small Boroughs to borrow from the Government for road-making purposes. Proposed by Cr Gower, seconded by Cr Hennessy, That the clerk draw the attention of clauses 92, 93 and 94 of the Borough bye-laws, relating to chimneys stove pipes to persons who are committing a breach of the above byelaw.
