Justices’ Court.
(Before Messrs Aif Eraser and F. E. - Jenks, J.’s P.) ’ 1 : Monday, May sth. Thomas Robinson was charged with aiding and abbetting in tha theft of a number of fowls, tha property of Mrs East. The prosecution arose in connection with the charge preferred against A. Cole, who pled guilty to the ■ charge which was heard the previous' ' Saturday. Constable Forster prosecuted and Mr Reade appeared’ for the accused, who pled “ Not Guilty.” The principal witness for the prosecution, Cole, testified that he alone was to blame, the accused bad not in any way assisted Mm in the theft nor had he received any portion of the plunder. Mr Reade contended that unless : Cole’s evidence was materially corroborated the prosecution must "fail. ■- The accused gave evidence toi the effect that beyond being in Cole’s company that night he denied taking 5 any part in the theft, and when Cole showed him what Lie had done he walked off home. The Bench dismissed the information. it.
