Princess Radziwill.
SENTENCED TO TWO YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT. ■ The career of Princess Radziwill has come to an end, as for forging the name of Cecil Rhodes to a number of. bills she was found guilty on all counts. Accused’s counsel urged that she acted without fraudulent intent, and that nobody was injured by her transactions. The Attorney-General stigmatised her as a blackmailer, and a cruel, dangerous woman. The Chief Justice, in summing up, remarked that it was not suggested in the correspondence of Mrs Scholtz that she handed prisoner the bills. In passing sentence he deplored the prisoner’s attempt to asperse an innocent woman (Mrs Scholtz); also her bribing of a post office boy to forgery. Owing to her delicate health, the prisoner was committed for two years to a house of correction. Prisoner listened to the sentence with bowed head. •
