The Transvaal. PROSPECTS OP PEACE. The prospects of peace are considered favourable, but it is believed that matters in connection with the treatment of rebels are still an obstacle in the way of settlement. The delegates who recently conferred with Lord 'Kitchener at Pretoria, are consulting the commandoes in rotation. A final conference of delegates to discuss terms of surrender will be held at Vereeniging, on the 25th inst.. MISCELLANEOUS. The garrison of Ookeif, in Western Cape Colony, continues to repulse all attacks, inflicting heavy losses on the Boers. General Eliott’s division is moving against a Boer force, which proved troublesome in the vicinity of Brindisi (?). Latest. CONFERENCE OP DELEGATES. It is officially stated that a conference of delegates at Vereeniging will be held on the 15th. RESUMING COMEDY. The theatre has re-opened at Johannesburg. RETURNED QUEENSLANDERS. The Queensland Fifth Contingent have returned from the Cape.
