Wedding.

SYMONS-CARKEEK; On Thursday afternoon a quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised at All Saints’,.Gh'hrch, Foxton, by the Rev. H; F. Wilsotij the contracting parties being Mr Arthur Symons, son of the late Mr C. Symons, and Miss Carkcek, the youngest daughter of Mr -Morgan Garkock, another old colonist and For-' morly a resident of the Otaki district tor-many years. i Owing to the unavoidable absence Of the -father of the bride, the duty of giving the bride away devolved on Mr Jas. Symons. The bridegroom was attended by His brother, Mr Walter Symons, as best man. ' : The bride, who looked charming, was dressed in a blue-cloth travelling costume, trimmed,with white silk and toque to match, and carried a boquet composed of white cosmeas and chrysanthemums. The bride was attended by two little bridesmaids, Miss Ava Symons and Miss Doris Cook, who were dressed in white muslin trocks and carried baskets of red and white flowers, trimmed with ribbons to correspond. After the ceremony the guests drove to the residence of the bridegroom’s mother, where afternoon tea was partaken of, and where the young couple received the congratulations and customary good wishes of their immediate friends and relations for a happy union. The presents to the bride were both useful and pretty. Mr and Mrs Arthur Symons left by the afternoon train for the North.
