Football.
A meeting was held last night at the Manawatu Hotel to form a Town Football Team, Mr Levctt in the chair. It was propo?ed by Mr Blanche, seconded by Mr Rickard, That the Club be called the Awahou Football Club. The following officers were elected: —Pair- >n, His Worship the Mayor ; President, Mr W. Robinson; VicePresidents, Messrs R. Noonan, Laing, Haywood, Levett, G. Gray, Stewart, and Rev. Wilson ; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr R. Caloutt; ViceCaptain, Mr W. Liddell. Working Committee.—Rev. Wilson, Messrs Murphy, Rickard and Blanche; Auditors, Messrs Overend and Reade; Delegates to the Union, Messrs Blanche, and Rickard. Honorary Surgeon. Dr Graham. Proposed by Rev, Wilson, seconded by Mr Murphy, That the Club join the Foxton Football Union. It was decided that the colours should be Chocolate and Royal Blue. It was also decided that the subscription to the Club should be ss. Resolved that a meeting be called for Wednesday next, and all those present to endeavour to gain members for the Club. The meeting terminated with the usual vote of thanks to the Chairman for the use of the room
