Police Court.
(Before Messrs Alf Fiaser and F. E. Jenks, J.’s P.) Monday, 10th March. John Smith, charged with assault, was fined 10s or 48 hours’ imprisonment with hard labour, and for resisting the police was fined 10s or 48 hours’ imprisonment; a charge of vagrancy against the same offender was dismissed. William Ernest Zeigler, charged with drunkenness, was convicted and discharged. William Ernest Zeigler, charged with vagrancy, was remanded till tomorrow to allow him time to get work. Patrick Carroll, charged with drunkenness, this being his second offence, was fined 40s or 7 days’ imprisonment with hard labour. THIS DAY. (Before Messrs Alf, Fraser, and P. B. Jenks, Esq’rs, J's.P.) Samuel Mason, charged with theft, was remanded to Saturday. W. E. Zeigler, charged with being a vagrant, was convicted and discharged. Sid. Oakes, for using obscene language, was fined £2.
