The Sheep Returns.

The annual sheep returns show that the total number of owners of sheep in the North Island on 80th April, 1901, was 8348, and the sheep 10,218,945.

In the South Island there were 10,017 owners with 10,014,154 sheep, making the grand total 20,283,099 sheep. The increase over previous returns was : North Island 220,722, South Island 657,182; increase for the colony 877,904.
