Wei-Hai-Wel.
Lord Onslow, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, states that the fortification and garrisoning of Wei-hai-wei have been abandoned. The position can be utilised as a sanatorium, and will continue to be a useful and valuable concession. The Colonial Office will now administer it.
Lord Selborne, First Lord of the Admiralty, said the change was due to considerations of naval strategy. The position was still valuable as a naval base.
