A Musical Treat.
VISIT OF THE BOSTON CON CERT CO.
Owing to the public spirit of a few of the townspeople the residents on Friday will have a great musical treat provided for them at reasonable prices, they having guaranteed the takings. Unfortunately the notice is short, but there should be a rush for seats as these opportunities axe seldom offered away from big towns. Everv company is always one of the bes£ according to advance statements, hut we are permitted to say that Mr W. S. Stewart heard them when in Wanganui lately, and declares them to be “ real good.” The Boston Concert Company has an international reputation, having toured the United States, Canada and England, and have just recently arrived from America.,
The Company consists of the great Belgian Solo Violinist, Bernhard Walters, who to-day ranks as one of the greatest violinists living. Ha belongs, artistically speaking, to the Franoo-Belgian school of violinists. His playing is frequently compand to that of Sarasati. His style is magnetic and bis playing a revelation.
Lillian Walther’s rich mezzo soprano voice is one of great sweetness and purity. Mr 0. B. Newton is a master of the monologue. In America, as Aunt Stutswioker, he kept the audience in a continuous roar of laughter.
TO THE DEAF.—A rich lady, cured of her Deafness and Noises in the Head by Dr Nicholson’s Artificial Ear Drams, gave , £5,000 to his Institute, so that deaf people unable to procure the ear Drama may have them free. Address No. 699, D. The Nicholson Institute, Leagoott, Otmnersbury, London, W.
