ing shed. It commenced in that neighbourhood, and with the sou’westerly wind blowing the whole mill was soon a mass of flames, against which it was powerless to fight. Mr Henuessy’s loss will bo a heavy one, close on £3OO, as in addition to engine, machinery and buildings, there was about £6O or £7O of fibre in the mill.
The fire attracted many persons, some few of whom worked well as a bucket brigade in bringing water from the river to pour on a shed close by full of dressed fibre. Their efforts we are glad to say were successful.
