Yesterday afternoon a match was played between the Manawatu and Rangitikei team*. Much interest was shown in the event as the Manawatu team had two Cup winners, Messrs (Y. Robinson and Strang, and the Rangitikei team bad three of the Cup winners of last year. The, Rangitikei team were the favourites, and was formed of the three Wilsen brothers and Mr Ksiller, the eldest brother of Wilsons’ being the only change from the Cup winners. The Manawatu" team was formed of the two Abraham brothers, who took i and a, A. Strang 3, and O. Robinson back, v The game was well played and the secured 8. goals, to a for Rangitikei. This game gives the Manawatu Club a good show for the Cop this year.
