Writing from London under date October ißth, Mr Cameron, Produce Commissioner for the New Zealaud j Go\ eminent, say the hemp market is i a particularly sensitive one, and thiß is at present most noticeable, for whereas at the beginiog of the month j those holding stocks were anxious settlers, now all are holding firmly for higher rates. At auction sales last week the offerings of N.Z. hemp were ; only small. These realised £i per ton , more than the price of the pf evioils j week, while this week there were no lots of N kZ. hemp •:.? ologued. TransI notions made privately have- been ; effected at another £i advancr. £ig j per ton is now the price ruling tor good fair Wellington grade. |
