THE AUSTRALIAN CONTINGENTS. The Premier has received a cable from General Gaselee that it is absolutely necessary to retain the naval contingent in China, and commending their usefulness for police work. Sir W. Lyne says they may remain any reasonable time their services are required. The Premier has informed Hon. J. Chamberlain the contingent may remain in China till March.
