The Presidental Election.

MR McKINLEY AGAIN RETURNED. Mr McKinley has been elected President of the United States. There was unprecedentedly heavy and early polling in New York and most of the cities. The weather was very fine, greatly assisting Mr McKinley. The Democratic Country Commission revoked the commissions given to 500 deputies at Denver. , Fifteen hundred Denver policemen tried to evict the deputies. During the struggle a Republican negro deputy was killed and three negroes and two policemen wounded The negroes at Delaware finding the whites given precedence, destroyed the polling booths and their contents One Democrat was severely stabbed at Philadelphia. The negroes in the <wme district prevented from voting fired revolvers and wounded a pugilist, who was acting a<? election judge, with the butt end of a pistolOn Monday night, at Caseyville, in Indiana, two hundred shots were exchanged, one person being killed. Vn American and seven Austrians and Italians were wounded. A Democrat was killed afc Lick Creek, in Illinois. CHARGES AGATNST THE POLICE. Mr Dsvery, Chief of the New York police, has been indicted for feloniously interfering, with McCullogh, the State Superintendent of Elections. Accused has been admitted to bail in the sum of 1000 dollars. Devery was origina'ly appointed j by Tammany, and the State, which was Republican, appointed McCullogh. The latter wished to prevent illega' votes, and insisted on arresting challenged men bpfore they re-: cord their votes. Devery instructed the police not to a low interference with voters.
