The Queen has approved the appointment of Lord Salisbury as Prime Minister and Lord Privy Seal. The Right Hon. C. T. Ritchie, who was President of the Board of Trade, becomes Home Secretary, in succession to Sir Mathew White Ridley. The Marquis of Lansdowne, Secretary of State for War, succeeds Lord Salisbury as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.. The Right Hon. St. John Brodrick, late Parliamentary Secretary to the Foreign Officer, becomes Secretary of State for War, in succession to the Marquis of Lansdowne. Lord Selborne, late Parliamentary Secretary to the Colonial Office, succeeds the Right Hon G. J. Goschen as First Lord of the Admiralty.
