The Athletic Sports.
We remind our athletes that nominations for the Handicap close tonight. The winner of this race, besides the amounts advertised . will receive a gold pendant which has been presented by Mrs Wyeth. The Sports give a better promise each day of being a grand success. Many additions have been made to the programme. There are two races, one for girls under 14 years of age, the winner of which receives the trophy given by Mr Alf Fraser, and the second will receive 2s 6d. A prize of 6e is given for the race for boys under 16 years of age, and the second and third contestants also get a money prize. Then a greasy pig item is added. We have been asked to mention that the rumours that are being industriously circulated that no band wi 1 be on the ground are incorrect. Satisfactory arrangements have been made for the attendance of a firstclass brass band of nine performers.
