Testa's Oscillator.
I • • Nikola Tesla, the renowned electrician, has constructed an oscillator capable of passing through the diseased human organs electric shocks of such intensity as to kill the microbes of disease, though leaving the tissues unaffected. Testa thus explains the action of his machine : — " My new oscillator is based on the principle which I discovered some time ago. It involves the use of vibrations of an electric condenser which stores electrical energy. The energy is of an explosive nature, like the power locked up in dynamite, only it is as many times more powerful. When the energy is suddenly released, as in my machine, it •produces quickly varying oscillations, which are able to penetrate through bodies. Though this energy may be enormous in amount, it is not harmful in nature. By means of this machine I may pass half a million volts of electricity through a man with causing him injury. Indeed it might be utilised with beneficial effect. lam of opinion the electricity in this form may be used to stamp out internal diseases. When you stand in the sunlight your body is receiving millions of volts of electricity, yet these are not of a harmful kind. It is the same with my new electrical energy." It is stated that the machine has been tried in New York with success, internal diseases having been cured by means of the electrical shocks after a few applications.
