CASUATIES TO THE COLDSTREAMS. The casualties amongst the Coldstream Guards at Pan station was caused by explosive bullets, the Boers sniping them at a range of sixty yards. Out of resentment at the terrible nature of the wounds, the army is demanding that all prisoners taken with explosive bullets in their possession be shot. The Boers shelled General Buller at long range at Krugersport. They removed their guns before the mounted force could reach them. General Buller captured much stock, and 150 wagons of supplies. 190 Burghers surrendered with 184,---000 cartridges. General Hart made a large haul of cattle and 96 prisoners. LORD ROBERTS' PROCLAMATION. Lord Roberts' has issued a proclamation that when all leaders submit and every cannon is surrendered, peace will be declared. Prisoners will be allowed to return to their homes, excepting those directly responsible for the war or its disastrous prolongation. Stringent regulations have been issued against oath breaking and sniping. BOERS LAYING DOWN THEIR ARMS. In a despatch to the War Office dated the sth inst., Lord Roberts states that prisoners are surrendering along the Delagoa Bay railway in increasing numbers. Their number must now reach nearly 16,000. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE WITH THE POLICE. The first-class police in Lieut.-Gene-tal Baden- Powell's force receive 9s per day each, besides rations, and the third-class men 7s per day. The term of service is for two years, renewable at the end of that period, or the troopers may join the reserve, receiving £1 per month.
