The Boers, under cover of the bu*h, came within 200 yards of Pienaar station. Seven of the enemy were killed and a number injured by mountain guns and the explosion of mines. Private Waddell, of New Souths Wales, was killed, and Private Pound was severely wounded in the subsequent pursuit.
