The annual meeting of the above club was held last night at All Saints' Schoolroom. A fair attendance of members were present, and Mr Stiles was voted to the chair. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows : — President. The Mayor; CapN tain, B. G. Gower ; Vice-Captain, J. Howan ; Secretary, W. MacDermott ; Treasurer, J. F. Overend ; Auditors, P. Hennessy and E. Osborne ; Committee, G. Stiles, W. Hunter and A. Stansell. It was resolved that, the boating season be formally opened by a procession of boats on Wednesday next, 3rd October at 2 p .m. weather permitting. It was resolved that afternoon tea be provided in Boating shed for members and their friends on opening day. The Balance sheet shows the receipts to have been £31 3s. 4d. and the disbursements £21 9s 6d. leaving a credit balance of £9 13s iod. Tne Report states that the club actually started the season with a debit balance of £9 7s Bd. During the last year £y had been paid for painting the shed and repairing the boats and both are now in a good state of repair. The outgoing committee suggest the necessity of members paying up their subscriptions so that the end of the present season may show the club in a good financial position.
