Foxton Lawn Tennis Club.

» ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the above (adjourned from last Monday), was held last night at 8 o'clock, Mr Hamer in the chair. The secretary's report and balance sheet, showing a small credit, were duly adopted. Proposed by Mr" Stiles, seconded by Mr Cook, That in future the subscription for gentlemen be ios 6d, and for ladies ss, the entrance fee being abolished. Carried. The election of officers was then proceeded with, 'and the following were elected :— President— Mr Walter Robinson (re-elected); vice-presidents.. Messrs E. S. Thynne and W. S. Stewart (re-elected) ; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. S. Stewart (reelected): committee, Messrs Leach, Cook, Stiles, Hamer, and Mrs Stewart, Miss O'Brien and Miss P. Collins. It was resolved that on a v naiucs ot 12 additional players of croquet being received, the ground adjoining the clay court be prepared for that game, and materials be provided forthwith, and that the cost of levelling the ground and crtquet material be ascertained in the first instance.

New members were elected as follows: — Messrs T. Westwood, J. E. Barham, J. Gillespie and E. Hunter. It was agreed that the opening match of the season be played on Wednesday, 2nd October, weather permitting. Resolved that all subscriptions be paid not later than November Ist next. The Committee were requested to interview the ranger as to cattle and horses found in the Tennis grounds, also that Mr Hamer interview Mr McMillan, owner of the ground. Votes of thanks were passed to the j secretary, the outgoing committee, and j to the lady members for their courtesy '■■ in providing afternoon tea during the 1 season, and to the chair. j
