The School Case.
This morning at the Magistrate's Court Washington S. Stewart, headmaster of the Foxton State School, was summoned on the information of Hans Andreason that he did assault and beat one Raymond Andreason, a Child under the age of fourteen years to wit of the age of six years and ten months. Mr Hankins appeared for Mr Andreason, and Mr T. Ray appeared for Mr Stewart. The evidence was of. length, particulars of which will be published on Saturday, and at the conclusion the Magistrate found the punishment was excessive on one so small, and inflicted a five of 40s and solicitor's fee 2 is.
