The Transvaal.
BULLER'S MOVEMENTS.
The latest news concerning General Buller's movements shows that his troops have reached Ermelo without meeting with opposition. The Boers are retreating to the mountains in the north-east. A number of burghers in the district have surrendered.
Scoutsfrom General French's cavalry which has been operating along the Delagoa Bay Hne of railway, have reached Carolina, about thirty-five miles north of Ermelo.
PRESIDENT KRUGER'S MOVE-
MENTS.
It is reported that Lydenburg— the town among the hill fastnesses to the north of the Delagoa Bay railway — is not being defended by the Boers, owing to the attitude of the chief Mapoch and his Kaffir followers.
The latest report as to President Kruger is that he is retiring to Barberton.
