Foxton Borough Council.
The ordinary monthly meeting was held at the Library Buildings last night at 7.80 o'clock. i Present— Crs Jenks, Austin, Aldridge, Baker and Spelman. Cr Jenks occupied the chair in the absence of the Mayor. The minuteß of previous meetings were read and confirmed. Proposed by Cr Austin, seconded by Cr Baker, That the following alterations be made in the Rate-book : — Thomas Bowe, junr., as occupier of section No. 461 ; William Aid- •
ridge, as occupier of section No. 48 ; George Coley, as occupier of sections 15 to 27, 28 to 47, 49 to 59, 60 to 82, 3to 14. Carried. Correspondence inward and outWard, was read. Accounts to the amount of £155 Os 8d were passed for payment. The reports as read were adopted. Proposed by the chairman, seconded by Cr Aldridge, That the VTown Clerk be empowered to make C- alterations to Rate-book in accordance with the Municipal Corporations Act, 1886, and amendments to the same. Carried. Proposed by the chairman, seconded by Cr Austin, That the Town Clerk be instructed to write the Minister of Lands re further subBidy for Wirokino Bridge. Carried. s~ Proposed by CrSpelman, seconded by Cr Austin, That the clerk's salary be increased by £10 per year. Carried. Proposed by Cr Baker, seconded by Cr Austin, That the owners of properties on the North side of the Avenue Road be instructed to remove all branches of trees shading and branching out into the road, also to request *^ftid owners to lower trees that are more than 25 feet to that height as the road is kept very wet, and residents on the South side are greatly inconvenienced as their premises are kept unhealthy and cold and damp by the trees hiding the sun away till late in the day. The same to apply to all other parts of Borough roads. Carried. Proposed by Cr Baker, seconded by Cr Spelman, That Mr A. Reeve be instructed to repair Baker-street and Howan-street that have been damaged by his pigs within seven days or the Council will do so at his expense. Carried.
