The Cost of War.
In the last Review of Reviews in a list of the casualties amongst the Australian Contingents up to the 15th June we find that • New South Wales has lost ten men killed, and 26 who died from fever ; 14 have been invalided home and 51 have been wounded.
Victoria has lost 11 men killed, and 11 from fever; 5 have been invalided home, and 17 have been wounded. South Australia has lost 2 killed and 2 from fever ; 4 have been invalided home, and 2 wounded.
Queensland has had 3 killed and z have died from fever ; 3 have been invalided home, and 9 wounded.
West- Australia has lost lost 2 killed and 1 from sunstroke ; 9 wounded and 1 invalided home.
Tasmania has had 2 killed 1 invalided home, and 3 wounded. New Zealand has lost 6 killed, 10 from fever, 9 invalided home, and 13 wounded.
The total is not a pleasing one, representing as it does 51 men lost, and 37 invalided, and 150 wounded. There are. also 65 men to be accounted for hereafter now under the heading of prisoners or missing.
