China. The warship Terrible (first-class cruiser, 14,200 tons) has arrived at Chi-fu from Taku. She brings news that 800 men of a Sikh regiment, and 200 of the second battalion of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers arrived from Hongkong and effected a junction with the international force that was sent to the relief of Tientsin after the retreat of the Russo-Ameri-can column. Two days before the arrival of the reinforcements the international force had been surrounded nine miles from Tientsin. It was intended to renew the attack on the Chinese on Sunday night. ADMIRAL SEYMOUR'S COLUMN. The German Consul at Chee-foo reports that bodies of " Boxers " and Chinese soldiers are hard-pressing Vice-Admiral Seymour (who has with him the foreign Ambassadors) twelve miles from Tientsin. The relief column which entered Tientsin on the 23rd inst. sent help to the Admiral next day. ~ An earlier message than the foreeroing from the German Governor of Kia-chou stated that Vice-Admiral Seymour had reached Pekin. A message from Admiral Kempff. commander of the United States squadron, says that the Admiral is surrounded ten miles from Tientsin. This message makes no mention of the ambassadors. RELIEF OF TIENTSIN. The Hongkong-Shanghai Bank announces the relief of Tientsin, on the the 23rd inst. A message from Admiral Ketnpff confirms this information. The losses weie small. UNREST OF THE CANTONESE. Great unrest prevails at Canton and there is every prospect of a rising if Li Hung Chang (who has been summoned to Pekin) leaves the city. Many of the Chinese officials have sent their families to Hongkong.
