Foxton borough Council.

A special meeting was held last night it the Library to pass a resolution striking the rate.

Present— The Mayor. (Cr Rhodes), Crs Austin, Purcell, Jenks, Aldridge, Baker and Spelman. The following resolution, proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Purcell, That by virtue of the Municipal CorDotations Act, 1886, and amendnftfifc, the Rating Act, 1894 and amendments, and the Public libraries Act, this Council do now strike a general rate of fifteen pence in the £, and a library rate of one penny in the £, 00 the rateable values of the whole of the rateable property within the Borough for the period commencing Ist day of April, 1900, and terminating on the 31st day of March, ioor, to be due and payable in one sum on the first day of July next, was passed.
