The Viceroy sanctioned ' the des patch of a fourth train, which carried 113 Russians (with two guns) and 62 French troops. The detacnments which left Tientsin on Sunday have reached Langfang, within forty miles of Pekin. Japan is ordering the embarkation of four thousand troops. She demands that her sphete of influence in China shall include the provinces of CheKiang, Fo-Kien, and. Kiang-Si, all three being south of the Yang-tse-Kiang, the two latter on the southeast. The Tsung-li-Yamen announces that Russia is bringing a large force to Pekin. S.x thousand "Boxers" have attacked the convent at Pao ting-fu. about fifty miles north east of Tientsin.
