Our Sovereign.
On Thursday we shall be celebrating the birthday of the Queen, who will then have attained the venerable age of 82 years. In common with all her subjects we trust she may be spared for many years yet to direct with her gracious wisdom the good of her people. The direct interest between the Queen ancL her subjects have been remarkably snown by the spontaneous outbursts of cheering her appearance in the streets of London caused, just prior to her visit to Ireland. The Irish were not backward in warm and hearty welcome, and we are sure that over the world the Queen's appearance would be hailed with every evidence of loyalty, love, and esteem No monarch has ever achieved such a record as our beloved Queen, and her subjects will devoutly hope she may be spared to witness, once again, peace and plenty, as the part of her people in every part of her vast Empire. With such a hope will one and all acclaim
