Wedding.

- -♦ '- A very interesting and pleasing ceremony took place at the Native Mission Church, Otaki, Wednesday morning, when Mr Taite Heuheu, a' prominent Native chief, of Motuiti, and Miss Meretini Skipwith, daughter of Mr R. Skipwith, also a noted chief, of Otaki, were joined in matrimony. The bride looked char_ajing in a cream cashmere dress, with chiffon and satin trimmings, and she wore the orthodox veil and wreath. There were two bridesmaids — Misses i^ana Eangiheuwea and Jane McDonald — the former being attired in native costume, and the latter ih ■ a pretty cream figured cashmere, trim__ed with chiffon, and carrying a nice floral bouquet. The bride was given away at the altar by her father, aud Mr Martin Winiata acted as best man. The Rev. Jas. Mc William was the officiating clergyman. After the ceremony, the bridal party were driven to the residence of the bride's parents, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast had been spread on the lawn. About 60 guests (Native and European) sat down and did full justice to the abundance of good things provided. The toast of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr Unwin, and suitably responded to. Mr and Mrs Henheu were the recipients of many useful and vahnble presents.
