Accidents.
« Yesterday afternoon as Messrs O. Robinson and A. Thynne were driving down the Lady's mile, the reins got nnder the pony's tail which so Jrightened him that he bolted. The reins being in this position prevented any holding of him and as he approached one of the telephone posts Mr Robinson jumped out and got slightly hurt in doing so ; on the wheel colliding with the post Mr A. Thynne was thrown against it, and is much bruised on head and body. No bones were broken so that the occupants of the trap may think themselves fortunate. The pony got clear of the vehicle with the exception of a bit of the shaft, and jumped, the wire fence at the end of the road. Yesterday evening as a .party were driving out of town in a trap the train was met by Eastern's slaughter-house, and the horse desired to make an end of the party by determined backing the vehicle against the train. The men got out but the trap suffered, the axle being broke and the trap wrecked.
