BOERS' TREACHERY. Lord Methuen remonstrated with the Boer Commander for the treachery displayed in hoisting the white flag and using dum dum bullets at Belmont. Reconnaissances have revealed two strong Boer commandos with guns in the high lands, but none south of the Mooi River. THE BRITISH SURPRISE THE BOERS. The British surprised the Boers at Willow Grange and 80 were bayoneted The British had three killed and 44 wounded, chiefly owing to the Boers' quick-firing guns having a longer range than the British. THE CAPE DUTCH. Four hundred Cape Dutch, inchiding the Magistrate at Barkley, joined the Boers disloyalists and seized Lady Grey. A general movement in the district favours the Boers. Commandant Grobler seized ten leading Britishers at Colesburg. He threatens to shoot them if Vauransburg is shot.
