Smale and Hay.
Our readers will notice that Messrs Smale and Hay, the cheap cash drapers of this town, bnve a notice in to-day's issue of tbeir re moval into central premis-e- on the Main-street, opposite the Bank of New Zealand Since opening in the new shop tbey have been able to let the public see their stock to the best advantage and have reaped increased business accordingly. They advertise that goods are sold cheaper than tbey can be obtained in Wellington, which is quite rea=on> able to expect owing to tbe heavy rent and rates levied in the Empire city, but it is not so generally understood as it should be, and if it was there would be less money sent out of the town for what can equally well be supplied in it.
Tbey ask a trial and assure purchasers that they will be satisfied. This is a good recommendation and easily tried, and no doubt will be. We trust the firm will do well and ir. will not be the manager's fault if they do not, as he is most anxious to oblige and considers nothing ton much trouble. The advertisement nets forth very plainly tbe lines the firm depends on to meet the public taste.
