Miss Annie May Abbott.

On Saturday night Miss Abbott who is known as the " Little Georgia Magnet" gave one of her strange and yet marvellous entertainments at the Public Hall. A committee consisting of Messrs H. Coley, Bradcock, Wilson, B. Austin, D. Purcell, A. Osborne, T. East, J. Walls, Dr Meares and several others were invited on the stage and watched the proceedings. The first part of her performance gave the audience an idea of the astounding feats this little lady is able to perform. One of the party on the stage was asked to hold up a* chair, but directly Miss Abbott touched it he found it impossible to remain still. This was tried with several, but not one was able to withstand the power she had. The strangest part in herrfeats is that gentlemen who placed their hands between her fingers and any object could feel no pressure whatever. Attempts were also made to lift Miss Abbott *"r~>m the ground, but not any succeeded, although as many as six at one time tried. One of the best feats was perhaps when Miss Abbott stood on I the pinnacle of one heel only, while a gentleman tried to push her over, and although a combination of four also tried they were unable to make the slightest impression. Miss Abbott also lifted five gentlemen in a chair by just placing the palms of her hands against the sides of the chair which was again demonstrated by intervening hands being used between her's and the chair. Many other wonderful exhibitions were given, which left the audience completely mystified as to the (power?) this lady possesses.
