The reason for the suicide of Mfljor-Soott, the rfficpr in charge of the Mounted Police at Vryburg, wbo took his life when the abandon men 1 cf the town by the Biiti-h wa deoided upon, is now apparent.

The anxiety attended upon the tffacovery of this circumstance preyed upon the unhappy officer's mind, and led to his self-destruction.
