Suicide of a Young Man.
i -* At Mornington (Dunedin) oa Thursday morning Harry Hubert Norman, aged twenty, eon of H. F. Forman, Government Inspector of Works, shot himself through the heart. The young man left home at about half-past eight o'clock, and went to town, returning home a little after eleven o'clock. He went to his bedroom and shortly afterwards a shot was heard by Mrs and Miss Norman. His mother and sister immediately rushed into the room, and there saw young Norman lying on the bed, apparently dead with a revolver bullet wound in hia breast. For some considerable tiraa past the deceased has suffered much pain from an injured arm, cause by a horse falling on him. He left the following note which was written in pencil at 11.80 a.m. to-day : — " The pain from my arm has driven me mad. I cannot pot up with it any longer. It has affected me mentally. Nobody knows what I have suffered through it. Say goodbye to Rose for me. Tell her not to worry. I may see her some day where we shall have no pain. Good bye.— H.N." At the inquest a verdict was returned to the effect that the deceased committed suicide while temporarily insane.
