At Friday's sitting of tbe courtmartial at Rennes, Dreyfus made a powerful protest against tbe repeated assertions that he made a confession to Captain Lebrun-Renault in January, 1895, when in custody after his eon fiction and awaiting the degradation oeremony. One of the witnesses described an alleged visit paid by Dreyfus to certain German military manoeuvres, but in cross-examination his story was completely discredited.
