Wreck of the Tekoa;
« The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Tekoa, bound from Wellington to London, struck Scateu Islands, off Tiera del Fuego, and is supposed to have foundered. The second officer and four of the crew have beeu saved. The rest of the ship's company are missing. Tiera del Fuego are a group of several large and many small islandqsparated from the south end of Smfch America by the Strait of Magellan. Its farthest; south point is Gape Horn. Staten island and half of the main island (Tiera del Fuego) belong fco Argentina ; all thp rest to Chili. On Diwson island the Jesuits have missionarips, and they have a farm with 20.000 sheep The inhabitants are savages of a low type- ______
