Herr Paul us.
Mr George Fenton, the business manager for Herr Paulus, arrived in town to-day to make arrangements for the appearance of this Prince of Ma* gicians on Friday night. Herr Paulus : has received flattering notices of his power as a conjurer and illusionist, and he has just finished a successful season at the Wellington Opera House. His Excellency the Governor attended one performance when there was a crowded s house, and the Times says the performance " exceeded if anything the ex* pectations of the audience, who mani- . tested their appreciation by loud and frequent applause." During the evening several illusions ' never yet previously exhibited here i will be given :— " Titanic Trilby," "The Prisoner of the Bastile," and "The Shadow of the Cross," when i Mdlle Maudina will be burnt to death 'in full view of the audience. The professor does a number of sleight-of-hand tricks in which he is said to have no equal. Mdlle Maudina contributes vocal selections during the evening, and i Clarence St. Clair, the champion banjo , and mouth-organ player, also performs. This should be a sufficiently good bill-of-fare to secure a crowded house. 1 ...in ■ imhuh jMn^MWMM^^^^IlM
