The Mayor has handed us the following letter for publication :— ■' Public Works Department, Wellington* August i r♦- " Sir— The petition from the residents of Foxton-Paliherstdn' and praying the Government to construct a light line ot railway from Foxtonlb the Ocean Beach, which you presented to the Hon. the Minister of Railway re* cently, has been referred to th;s Department to deal, with, and I £m directed by the Minister for Works to state in reply that the prayer of the petition will be^ duly considered when the matter of railway extension is being dealt with. H. J. H. Blow. Under Secretary." His Worship the Mayor, Foxton.
